Gunnsi (Gunnar Þór Gunnarsson) was born in Iceland and has a university degree in tour guiding. He owns and runs, with his business partner Tyffi (Tyrfingur Tyrfingsson), Season Tours, a travel agency mentioned in Rick Steves Iceland as a boutique tour company. Through the years, they have received hundreds of five-star reviews on Google and Facebook, along with a number of Travelers’ Choice Awards on TripAdvisor, for various tours all over the country. The last one is in 2024.
Gunnsi is still guiding in Iceland, on both day tours and multi-day tours customized for each group or individual traveler. He is a storyteller by heart, and reading his books will give you the Icelandic point of view with a dash of local humor.

This book gives you a locals perspective on the Golden Circle and Iceland. The author includes so many sights and facts about Iceland that makes it such an enjoyable and informative read. It would be easy enough to take on your adventure as it slips easily into a backpack- great reference tool! Hope there’s more books to come - still making my way through all of Iceland! And hope to book a tour with Season Tours soon to learn more about their beautiful country!

This book was written by a professional experienced Iceland Guide who has his own touring company, Season Tours. The book is very detailed as to where to visit as well as all interesting facts about this beautiful country. I just loved reading it and know that even if you are just stopping from a cruise you will find this book a must have!! The author has a native insight into Iceland often revealing places that only a native islander would know. My husband and I loved reading it!!!
